Huangshan in chinese characters
The Huangshan, or Yellow Mountain, located in the sourthern part of Anhui province, is one of the most beautiful scenaries in China and it is listed in the "World Heritage of Culture and Nature" by UNESCO. These mountains are naturally reputed to be N.1 mountain in the word famous saying, engraved in slate, states that : "If you climbed the Yellow Mountains, you do not need to climb any other mountain". The rare pine trees and grotesque rocks form a changeably and wonderful scenery. Among the pine trees (Pinus Huangshanensis Hsia), some are particularly famous because of their shape and odd position. One example is the Black Tiger Pine Tree, on top of which, it is told, a Buddhist monk saw a black tiger, who was gently sitting there. Or the Stretching Forward Pine Tree. And also the Lover's Pine Tree, with double trunks, symbolizing a young couple in love. Lovers wishing to seal their link for ever are welcome to purchase a padlock, with their two name engraved on it. The padlock is to be left in the mountains, locked and fastened to one of the security chain, while the key is thrown down the slope. If one judges from the number of padlocks, it is nor surprising Chinese are so numerous.
Several interesting excursion can be undertaken in the Huangshan. The pathways are all carved in the rock, with frequent steep staircases and billions of steps. Hotels and restaurant are run thanks to the tireless service of many porters who carry almost everything to and from the top, from laundry to food, from garbage to heavy appliance. For elders or lazy tourists sedans are also available.
