WHO robbed the woods,
The trusting woods?
The unsuspecting trees
Brought out their burrs and mosses
His fantasy to please.
beech wood on 'Monte Penna'
He scanned their trinkets, curious,
He grasped, he bore away.
What will the solemn hemlock,
What will the fir-tree say?

Emily Dickinson (1830-86)
Complete Poems, 1924 - Part Two: Nature XVII

le mie foglie

The visual pigments placed in the cone cells of the human retina have the greatest sensitivity to different hues of color in the green region of the light spectrum. This means that our eyes are most sensitive to green and green is our color. Now I look through my window... oh, there is not much green out there.

I like trees and leaves and I like to take pictures and collect dry leaves. Have a look at my photographs and my herbarium below and please excuse me if you find some botanic mistakes, this is not science, it is just pleasure. To be more informed, try my "botanic" links.
